Curriculum Materials Library

About

The Curriculum Materials Library (CML) is closing for renovations April 20 - June 7, more information below.

The Curriculum Materials Library, located in room 207 of Aderhold Hall, is a cooperative effort between the UGA Libraries and the College of Education. It houses curriculum materials for grades K-12 and an impressive collection of juvenile literature.

Students, teachers, and parents can find children’s non-fiction on nearly any topic, and a fantastic array of children’s and young adult fiction. Other materials available include DVDs, flashcards, educational games, and more. In addition, the library offers full library services, including GIL Express and Repository pick-ups, faculty deliveries, and reference conferences on a by-appointment basis. The Curriculum Materials Library is open to anyone visiting the facility, and faculty, staff, and students can borrow items with a photograph ID.x

Note: Most ERIC documents are still not available online. This does not apply to ERIC journal articles. The libraries own most of the ERIC documents in microfiche and these are available in the basement of the Main Library in huge cabinets marked ERIC. Documents are filed by ED number. If you need help with this, please email the library or call 706-542-2957. Not affiliated with UGA? Contact the Curriculum Materials library.

CML closing for renovations April 20 - June 7

The Curriculum Materials Library will be closed for renovations beginning in April. We will be partially closed beginning the week of April 13th. This means patrons can still visit and check out materials, but we will begin packing and are not planning on retrieving packed items. Beginning the week of April 20th, we will be completely closed as we pack nearly 40,000 books, take down shelving, remove furniture and complete other tasks.

What does this mean for you?

  • Please plan ahead. If you think you might need some of our materials between late April and early June, please come get them as soon as you can. We will not be able to pull items once they are packed.
  • Materials checked out in April will not be due during the closed period unless you are graduating
    • If you are graduating, however, you will still have to return items prior to graduation
  • Make more use of the Science & Main Libraries. Use these Libraries to
    • Pick up & return GIL Express items. Select either the Main Library or Science Library (closer choice for Aderhold patrons) as your GIL Express delivery point.)
    • Select either the Main Library or the Science Library as your delivery point for Repository requests.
    • Return any Curriculum Materials items
    • When you return items to the Main Library or Science Library (and the Curriculum Materials Library during normal times), the items are removed from your account immediately and then sent to their "home" library. So, you can use the Main & Science Libraires worry-free.
  • Interlibrary Loan will be extra helpful & friendly during this time, allowing patrons to borrow materials which would normally be available in the CML.
  • Faculty deliveries to Aderhold will continue. This applies only to materials from the Main or Science Libraries, For GIL Express, you will need to select either the Main or Science Library as your delivery point.
  • Research & Reference assistance will continue to be available. Jason Matherly & Carla Wilson Buss will have temporary office space on the second floor of Aderhold, Room 201. Email will probably be the best means of communication

We hope to reopen at the beginning of June. We'll have new carpeting and a new arrangement. We hope to see you back when we reopen and thank you for your patience during this time.
