A faculty member in the University of Georgia's department of kinesiology has been recognized for his top-notch work with the North American Society for Sport Management.

Thomas A. Baker III, an associate professor of sport management, was recently honored by the organization for his outstanding work as a reviewer. He was among 91 professionals who helped review 42 conference abstracts and 38 teaching and learning fair abstracts. Of the reviewers, Baker was among 10 named "Outstanding Reviewer."

"The North American Society for Sport Management relies on volunteers to serve as abstract reviewers, without whom the annual conference could not take place," wrote George B. Cunningham, past-president of the organization and chair of its 2018 conference. "We are thankful for their service."

This year's NASSM Conference takes place June 5-9 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The organization also produces the Journal of Sport Management and The Sport Management Education Journal, and it also maintains a comprehensive list of sport management journals focusing on specialized areas such as law, media, facility management and policy.
