Two student workers in the College of Education were named among the top 100 at the University of Georgia.

Amanda Jeter, a first-year biological engineering major, and Terri Rothfusz, a fourth-year accounting major, both student workers in the College of Education's Office of Academic Programs, were recently recognized at the university's student employee luncheon for their outstanding contributions to UGA and their community.

"Terri and Amanda deserve to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to our office," said Krista Vanderpool, manager of data analysis, reporting and curriculum in the Office of Academic Programs. "In the short time they have been in our office, they have jumped in and quickly learned our processes. They both are dedicated to school and to the work that they do in our office."

Both Jeter and Rothfusz assist the office with data collection, analysis and input and also work on minor projects and filing for other offices depending on their workload. Additionally, they use Excel and Qualtrics to maintain accurate and complete student records from initial applications to degree conferral.

"I have a better understanding of just how much work goes into taking raw data and transforming it into useful information," said Rothfusz, who plans to return to UGA in the fall to receive her master's in accounting. She will also continue working as a graduate assistant for OAP. "I am learning how to obtain mentorship from the people I work with so I can continually improve in my work and personally."

After receiving her graduate degree, Rothfusz hopes to earn her CPA license and work at a public accounting firm in Orlando, Florida.

"My time with the Office of Academic Programs has been an amazing opportunity," she added. "The level of professionalism, the friendliness of the workers and the way they encourage talent development is an example of the best the University of Georgia has to offer. I can't imagine a better place to be a student worker."
