Congratulations to the College’s fall 2023 First Honor Graduates!

Three First Honor Graduates in the Mary Frances Early College of Education will be recognized at the University of Georgia’s fall 2023 Undergraduate Commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 15.

To be a First Honor Graduate, a student must maintain a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average throughout their undergraduate studies, as well as in all college-level transfer work before or after enrolling at UGA.

The College’s fall 2023 First Honor Graduates are:

  • Lauren Christian (B.S.Ed. ’23), elementary education
  • Annie Copeland (B.S.Ed. ’23), elementary education
  • Anna Friesen (B.S.Ed. ’23), elementary education
For those who cannot attend in person, the ceremony will be livestreamed on the UGA Commencement homepage beginning at 9:55 a.m.

The ceremony’s commencement speaker will be Harold A. Black, professor emeritus of finance at the University of Tennessee. A native of Atlanta, he earned his undergraduate degree from UGA in 1966, becoming the first African American graduate of the Terry College of Business.
