The department seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in Educational Data Mining and Learning Analytic Methodologies to begin the 2024-2025 academic year in August 2024. The successful candidate will be part of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to Advance Teaching & Learning Cluster.

Assistant Professor (Applied Cognition & Development)

The department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in Applied Cognition and Development to begin in August 2024. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain a high-quality research program, seek external funding, serve as a research mentor for students, direct Applied Projects, theses, and dissertations, teach in the online and campus program, participate in faculty governance, and contribute to the collegial community of the Applied Cognition and Development Program and the larger Department of Educational Psychology.

Department of Kinesiology

Clinical Assistant Professor

The department seeks to hire a non-tenure track faculty member who will teach four courses per semester that will serve students in the Exercise and Sport Science major and minor programs, the Personal Health and Well-being minor program, as well as students interested in working with individuals with disabilities.

Language and Literacy Education

Assistant Professor – LCL

This Tenure Track Assistant Professor will work in the Literacies and Children’s Literature (LCL) program area. This experienced Assistant Professor should have the awareness of and be committed to contributing to cultural relevance, social justice, race, and anti-racist pedagogies in education. Applicants should show evidence of impacting issues of censorship and equity within the field of children’s literature and literacy education.

Alvermann Endowed Professorship for Social Change

The Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of Georgia is pleased to announce the Donna Alvermann Professorship for Social Change at the rank Professor beginning August 1, 2024. For this endowed position, we seek an individual with outstanding accomplishments in research that centers the potentially dislocating effects of social change on people, places, and institutions as read through contemporary educational research.
