Curriculum
Through this program of study, you will typically finish your core classes by the third year. During the third and fourth years, as you begin taking graduate courses, you will complete the requirements for the bachelor’s degree and begin taking education courses. You will complete your student teaching/internship during the fall semester of your fifth year and complete your coursework in the spring.
Admissions
All undergraduate students are eligible to apply for a Double Dawgs program. Degree pathways are structured so that undergraduates first move through their core and major courses in approximately three years. Because undergraduates may share up to 12 graduate-level courses with their undergraduate program of study, the master’s degree coursework begins when students are still undergraduates.
After successful completion of bachelor’s degree coursework and completion of requirements for the UGA Graduate School, Double Dawgs participants become master’s students.
If you are admitted to the Double Dawgs pathway that leads to a master of arts in teaching, you will need to obtain a preservice certificate. More information about how to apply will be provided after admission.
See Program Admissions information on the BSEd in Mathematics Education for details about minimum criteria and how to apply to the mathematics education program.
