In this progrma of study, gain a broad base of knowledge in history, the humanities, mathematics, languages, and science in your first two years. Students typically begin graduate-level coursework by their fourth year and continue with graduate-level coursework the following summer, fall and spring after graduating with a BSEd.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Almost all in-state students begin their studies at UGA paying limited tuition or fees. Please note that these amounts are subject to change and are meant to give prospective students an idea of the costs associated with a degree at the University of Georgia College of Education.

Application Process

The degree pathways are structured so that undergraduates first move through their core and major courses in approximately three years. Because undergraduates may share up to 12 graduate-level courses with their undergraduate program of study, the master's degree coursework begins when students are still undergraduates. After successful completion of their bachelor's degree coursework, and completion of requirements for the UGA Graduate School, they become master's students.

The HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships allow a maximum of 127 attempted or paid hours, whichever is reached first, for students who have not completed a bachelor's degree. This can be used to cover tuition for both undergraduate and graduate coursework. HOPE and Zell Miller scholarships will only pay tuition at the lower rate, whether it is the graduate or undergraduate rate. Once a student meets the requirements for graduation from the undergraduate program, they are no longer eligible for the HOPE or Zell Miller scholarships.

Admissions Criteria

Admission will be based on a portfolio of information, including the graduate application, official transcripts, a personal statement, letters of recommendation, and resume.

Students who meet all of the following requirements will be eligible to apply for the ABA master's degree program:

  • GRE or Miller Analogies Test scores: Minimum GRE results of 146 verbal and 146 quantitative; alternatively, applicants may choose to take the Miller Analogies Test. We require a minimum score of 402 for the Miller Analogies Test.
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 for all courses taken.
  • Foreign applicants will also need to score a minimum of 20 points each on the Speaking and Writing sections of the TOEFL, with an overall minimum score of 80. Test scores must be within five years from the date of application.

Admission to the Pathway

Students interested in pursuing the pathway, should have at least 60 credit hours completed at the time of application. Students must also have an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.2 and an ACT or SAT score that places them at or above the 70th percentile. Students should complete the College of Education Double Dawgs application and also submit via email to Heather Woodard Roberts.

  • A resume/curriculum vitae
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A personal statement (maximum of two pages) specifying why you wish to join the Double Dawgs program in Psychology/Applied Behavior Analysis
