Embrace learning during a child's formative years through a Double Dawgs pathway that offers both a bachelor's and a master's degree in elementary education. Your coursework will cover the history and methodology of education while also giving you the foundations to instill a lifelong love of learning among young children.

This degree program is in high demand at UGA, and admission is competitive. Graduates are sought by school systems across Georgia and beyond, with nearly all of our graduates who seek teaching positions after graduation securing a job before the end of their final semester. Your master's-level coursework is primarily online, along with a yearlong student-teaching placement, allowing you to learn the latest methods and immediately apply them in the classroom.

  • Gain professional experience while working on your master's degree
  • Combine the latest instructional techniques with core content and a yearlong practicum.
  • Become eligible for an increased salary through T-5 certification (master's-level salary)
  • Nearly 100% of elementary education graduates seeking teaching positions have job offers before graduation

In this program of study, your first two years at UGA give you a broad base of knowledge in history, the humanities, mathematics, languages, and science. By your third year, you begin to delve into education coursework and understand the theory behind the practice.

After graduating with a BSEd, continue your coursework through the following summer and fall through advanced coursework and electives to further specialize in elementary education.
