Part 1: University of Georgia Admissions Requirements

The UGA Office of Undergraduate Admissions oversees the application process required for the university. A student must be accepted to UGA before entering a College of Education program.

Part 2: Program Admissions Requirements

Some undergraduate degree programs have requirements that are unique for that program. Any such details for the BSEd in Athletic Training appear below.

For the BSEd in Athletic Training

Students must first be accepted into the University of Georgia before applying to the College of Education

Once students have completed their core work and pre-requisite courses, they may apply to the Athletic Training program. Applications are due the third Friday in January each year. Accepted students then begin in the program during the next fall semester.

Entrance requirements for the program are as follows:

  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.5
  • Area IV prerequisite courses completed (or in progress) with a C or better (CBIO2200/L, CBIO2210/L, PHYS1111/L, KINS2010, KINS2100/L, and KINS2470L
  • Essay: summary of background related to AT, your career goals, and how your admission to the major will assist you in achieving your career goals
  • Two Admissions Reference Forms
  • CHEM1212/L must be completed or in progress
  • Must be currently CPR certified (a copy of the current card is required)

Interviews will be offered to those candidates who show promise for a career in AT

Scoring of application

  • Core areas I-III GPA: 10%
  • Core area IV GPA: 60%
  • KINS2100/L GPA: 10%
  • Essay and Interview: 20%
