This is an add-on endorsement to a Georgia teaching certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Endorsement courses are open to UGA graduate students; non-students may complete the program by applying to the UGA Graduate School for non-degree status. If you are enrolled in a master's, specialist, or doctoral program in gifted and creative education, you meet the criteria for certification upgrade in Georgia. When you take the endorsement series at the start of the program, and you are seeking a degree, you may apply to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission when you finish the program for an upgrade in your certificate.
You must have a valid teaching certificate in order to be eligible for this endorsement in Georgia. A teaching certificate is valid only in the state for which it is issued.
June 1 (on-campus, fall only); March 1 (online, summer only)
Almost all in-state students begin their studies at UGA paying limited tuition or fees. Please note that these amounts are subject to change and are meant to give prospective students an idea of the costs associated with a degree at the University of Georgia College of Education.
Students may qualify for a variety of assistantships, scholarships, and other financial awards to help offset the cost of tuition, housing, and other expenses.
Most graduate students at UGA are not assigned to a faculty advisor until after admittance. A close working relationship with your advisor is paramount to progressing through your program of study.
Applications for the online endorsement program are accepted for summer semester matriculation only. All materials should be received by March 1.
Applications for the on-campus endorsement program are accepted for fall semester matriculation only. All materials should be received by June 1.
