Teacher Leader Endorsement is an add-on to a valid Georgia teaching certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. It is offered online with field observations at a local school district.

To add this endorsement, you must have a professional certificate at the master's degree or higher level in any recognized teaching field. An endorsement is valid only in the state for which it is issued. At the time of completion, you may apply to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for the endorsement to be added to your credentials.

Faculty and Curriculum

Coursework for this program is online, plus field observation and an in-person orientation at our Athens campus. To earn the endorsement, you must take:

  • EDAP 8150/8150E Learning Communities and Professional Development
  • ESSE 7500/ERSH 7500E Teacher Action Research
  • EDAP 7701/EDAP 7701E Teacher Leadership Residency
  • EDAP 7701/EDAP 7701E Teacher Leadership Residency

Tuition and Financial Aid

Part 1: Apply to the University of Georgia

  2. Test scores (depending on your program)
  3. Unofficial transcripts (native language and English for international applicants)
  4. Three letters of recommendation
