Students in the Field
Multiple programs in the Mary Frances Early College of Education are clinically-rich, bringing University coursework alongside unique field experiences which challenge students to grow their active practice in support of learners, families, community members, etc. For example, in teacher education, most programs require a sequence of experiences ranging from classroom observations to co-teaching with peers to a year-long embedded experience merging practicum and student teaching.
Our programs are committed to not just engaging in field-experiences but in providing students with rich, bi-directional and meaningful opportunities to engage in purposeful work that impacts the lives of those we serve. Here, we do work that does work.
The following resources and links support students as they prepare to enter field placements and clinical practice. Please only complete these steps or documents when prompted by your program or the Office of Clinical Practice.
These resources support students while they are actively engaged in field placements and clinical practice.
Each program has specific guidelines and expectations for your work in the field, which are delineated in the handbooks linked below.
