Office of Experiential Learning

The Office of Experiential Learning is committed to providing a range of field experiences that prepare our graduates to be impactful educators and professionals in a diverse society. We strive to make the process efficient and organized across all programs. Our team is dedicated to serving the College of Education in the following ways:

  • Developing school and community partnerships and administering clinical-related contracts
  • Arranging field experiences and clinical placements
  • Supporting research projects
  • Offering international student teaching opportunities and supporting other College of Education study abroad programs
  • Providing resources for students to engage as volunteers in the community
  • Providing general support and resources for satisfying the UGA experiential learning requirement
Placements, Student Teaching, and Clinical PracticeField experience and clinical practice are part of your coursework, placing you in schools, health clinics, mentoring programs, and other community settings, or as a tutor.
Consortium for Overseas Student Teaching (COST)Explore international student teaching opportunities that blend coursework with real-world experiences that allow you to also learn about the people and culture of the host country. Drop by our office in suite 612 between 2-5 p.m on Wednesdays to learn more.
Experiential learningView the list of approved experiential learning courses activities . The College of Education also accepts any S-suffix service learning course, CURO course, UGA-approved study abroad program courses, or any course or non-credit activity approved by another UGA school or college to satisfy the Experiential Learning Requirement. You may also visit the UGA Office of Experiential Learning for more information on the requirement.
