Research Summary

My research interests are in the development of Latina/o Psychology and the connections between ethnic minority psychology and other aspects of multicultural psychology. To this end I run an integrated research/service/outreach research program with an emphasis on the provision of services to the Spanish Speaking population of Georgia. I run a Spanish language clinic out of the Athens Latino Center for Education and Success and supervise the work of Spanish speakers as part of IMPACT, the interdisciplinary behavioral health team at Mercy Hospital in Athens.

I have mentored 27 students to the Ph.D. since 2002 and although they all have diverse research and practice interests, they are unified with a focus on multicultural competence and social justice.
