Exercise and sport science gives students in-depth knowledge of the scientific basis of physical activity, exercise and sport. Faculty for core classes are nationally recognized experts in the field. Students in this major have an interest in human movement to enhance health and fitness or for sports performance. Students may apply this knowledge to the general population, as well as to specific populations such as children and older adults, athletes, and individuals with chronic diseases, conditions, or disabilities. The coursework, in addition to research labs and practicum experiences, allows students to pursue national certifications, professional and graduate programs, and jobs in the profession.
