2019 JoLLE@UGA Winter Conference

Breaking Down Walls: Teaching and Learning Through and Across Boundaries

This annual conference is hosted by the Journal of Language and Literacy Education (JoLLE), a student-run, peer-reviewed, open-access journal housed in the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of Georgia.

This year, we invite teachers, researchers, and students to move beyond disciplinary, conceptual, theoretical, national, cultural, linguistic, social, racial, and gender boundaries, to communicate the embodiments of innovation, inclusion, affirmation, and “trans-”pedagogy.

Costs:

Participant: $150 (includes Friday workshop and event at Rook & Pawn, conference sessions and Saturday lunch)

Student participant: $85 (includes Friday workshop and event at Rook & Pawn, conference sessions and Saturday lunch)

Student participant without lunch: (includes Friday workshop and event at Rook & Pawn and conference sessions): $60

Group discount!

Register three or more from the same organization at the same time and receive a discounted rate of $125 per person (includes Friday workshop and event at Rook & Pawn, conference sessions, Saturday lunch and refreshment breaks.)

Hotel Reservations

A block of hotel rooms is being held at the UGA Hotel and Center for Continuing Education at a rate of $109 for a room with one queen or one king bed, or $149 per night for a room with two queen or double beds. The deadline to make a hotel reservation with the group block is Jan. 2. Registration and cncellation deadline: Jan. 25

Cancellation and refund policy: All cancellations must be submitted via email to mbaer@uga.edu before the cancellation deadline in order to receive a full refund. Cancellations after the deadline are non-refundable. If cancellation is not made by the deadline, and you are not able to attend, you or your organization is still liable for payment.

Registration transfer: If you have registered for an event but cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Simply email 48 hours before the event to mbaer@uga.edu with the registration information of the person who will attend.
