Hawkins quoted in Pittsburgh Post-Gazette story on athletes clustering around a major
Billy Hawkins, an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, is quoted in a May 31 _Pittsburgh Post-Gazette_ story on "clustering," a term that describes situations in which 25 percent or more of an athletic team are in the same major.
Clusters tend to be around majors that don't involve significant GPA or course hour requirements, according to Hawkins.
