Two COE faculty on The Cottage Sexual Assault Center board
Two College of Education faculty members—Jolie Daigle and Chris Linder—have been elected to the board of directors of The Cottage, Sexual Assault Center and Children's Advocacy Center.
Daigle is an associate professor and coordinator of the school counseling program and Linder is an assistant professor of college student affairs administration, both in the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services.
Other new board members include Shaye Gambrell, longtime community advocate; Michael Law, communications coordinator for UGA Libraries; Mary Grace Price, dedicated volunteer for The Cottage Crisis Hotline for the past six years; and Katie Darby Hein, faculty member in UGA's College of Public Health.
In 2013, The Cottage provided payment for more than 1,000 therapy sessions for adults and children who have been sexually assaulted or abused. The Cottage serves Athens-Clarke, Madison, Oconee and Oglethorpe counties. The Cottage is currently planning for its first annual Cottage Classic Golf Tournament at Lane Creek Golf Course in Bishop on August 15th and is seeking local businesses and individuals for sponsorship.
