Cramond receives Yes Award from Future Problem Solving Program

Bonnie Cramond, a professor of gifted education, has received the 2014 Yes Award from the Future Problem Solving Program International.

The award is given annually to someone who consistently says yes to creativity. It was created by E. Paul Torrance, the late UGA Distinguished Professor who was known as the "Father of Creativity" for his pioneering research in the field.

Cramond is internationally recognized as an expert in gifted education and creativity. Her research over three decades has focused on the identification and nurturance of creativity, especially among students considered at risk for an alternative diagnosis, such as ADHD, or dropping out of school.

Cramond served as director of the Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development from 2011-14.

She joined the UGA faculty in 1989. She studied under Torrance and received her Ph.D. in educational psychology with a focus on gifted and creative education in 1982.

Cramond received the award at the Future Problem Solving Program International Conference at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa in June.
