Peter Smagorinsky shares story of inspiring teacher

Peter Smagorinsky, Distinguished Research Professor of English Education, recently continued his series on great Georgia teachers with a profile of Rabun County teacher Becky Cross. The story appeared on the AJC's Get Schooled blog.

"I'm always relieved and inspired when I hear of teachers who, in spite of the current effort to standardize teaching and learning by means of centrally planned policies and designs, still find joy in their work," he writes. Smagorinsky is a professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education.
