'Pi Day' – and wedding — grabs national media attention
Anyone who celebrates Pi Day on March 14 will get an extra boost this year, with the ability to extend the celebration past the traditional two decimal points thanks to the year 2015. And mathematics professors at the College of Education are part of the hoopla, whether it be mentions in the national media about pi or about the upcoming nuptials of a recent graduate.
Inside Higher Education noted Jenny Johnson's upcoming wedding on Pi Day, which is suitably pi-themed. The Athens Banner Herald noted the significance of the day and the themed wedding. The Education Advisory Board noted Johnson's wedding in a round-up of Pi Day activities across the country. And mathematics education professor Ryan Smith was interviewed by the Georgia News Network for his thoughts on pi and the day to celebrate it.
