Alumna is finalist for Georgia Teacher of the Year

Holly Canup (BSEd '91, MEd '94, EdS '96), media specialist at East Jackson High School who also oversees the school's online education program, is one of 10 finalists for the 2016 Georgia Teacher of the Year award, reports the Athens Banner-Herald.

Canup has worked in Jackson County schools since 1991, starting as a science teacher at Jackson Middle School.

Over the next few weeks, a panel of judges will interview the finalists and observe them via video. The state winner will be announced May 8 in Atlanta.
