Award honors Bierema in name, achievements

The Academy of Human Resource Development has recognized College of Education Associate Dean Laura Bierema's achievements with the creation of a new award.

The Laura Bierema Excellence in Critical HRD award recognizes Bierema as a "thought leader" in the development of critical human resources development. Bierema is the associate dean for academic programs and a professor in the department of lifelong education, administration and policy who specializes in career development, women's development and organizational development along with critical human resource development.

The inaugural award, presented by the organization's Critical HRD and Social Justice Perspectives special interest group, was presented to Jamie Callahan of Drexel University.

The Academy of Human Resource Development is a global organization created and governed by the human resource development scholarly community.
