Kopcha works with local teachers on technology programs

Theodore Kopcha, an associate professor in the department of career and information sciences, is working with the Archway Partnership—UGA's community engagement platform—to find better ways to integrate technology in K-12 and higher education programs throughout Georgia.

The Public Service and Outreach Faculty Fellow has traveled to several local communities to discuss unique ways to integrate new technologies into the classroom. He has made tremendous progress with several counties already and will continue building stronger relationships with teachers interested in using technology to support deeper student thinking.

The fellows program, created by the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach, is designed for tenure-track and tenured professors focused on implementing an outreach initiative. Kopcha's program for K-12 students is specifically focused on science, technology, engineering and math.
