There is a reason comedians don't like to venture to college campuses, writes Peter Smagorinsky in the latest edition of the AJC's Get Schooled blog. It's because they're notorious for being politically correct—something that doesn't mix well with comedy.
But is this a bad thing? Smagorinsky, Distinguished Research Professor of English Education in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, weighs the merits of being "too PC" over the negative stereotypes that were once much more common in our culture.
