Maggie Horne, a student athletic trainer at Spalding High School, was recently featured in the Griffin Daily News for her outstanding accomplishments in the field.

Before her freshman year, Horne started working as a student manager for her high school's football team and has since moved into a trainer position under the school's head trainer Jett Daniel.

The rising junior attended [UGA's Athletic Training Student Workshop](/news/2015/07/high-school-senior-set-on-pursuing-a-career-in- athletic-training) for the second time earlier this summer to learn more about the profession, as well as a variety of skills related to rehabilitation. In addition to receiving a certificate of attendance, Horne was also given the workshop's All Star award—which was voted on by the professors and camp guides—for her strong work ethic.

In the future, Horne wants to earn a master's degree in athletic training and a doctorate in physical therapy.
