The latest issue of Teaching Tolerance, a blog and magazine produced by the Southern Poverty Law Center, features a question-and-answer with professor Stephanie Jones from the Department of Educational Theory and Practice.
In the article, Jones answers questions about how socioeconomic class manifests in schools, how teachers can create a "class-sensitive pedagogy," and gives advice to educators about changing their classroom practices.

Jones teaches courses on social class and poverty, critical literacies and place-based education, and is also the creator of The Other Side of Poverty in Schools Workshop, which teaches educators ways to better meet the needs of working-class and poor students.
