  |   Permalink   |   Kudos,   Media Mention

Juanita Johnson-Bailey, a professor in the department of lifelong education, administration and policy and also director of the UGA Institute for Women's Studies, grew up in a military family surrounded by strong women. This upbringing infused a love of travel -- she's visited 24 countries -- and attended Catholic school; the nuns, along with her mother and grandmother, ended up having the greatest influence on her life.

These and other anecdotes about Johnson-Bailey were shared in a recent story in The Red & Black kicking off Women's History Month. The weekly stories highlight faculty members who have distinguished themselves as champions of women's strength, power and intellect.
