Alumna Tonya Harris Cornileus to give fall commencement address for UGA Graduate School
Tonya Harris Cornileus (MEd '04, PhD '10) will give this year's fall commencement address for the UGA Graduate School.
The vice president of learning and organizational development for ESPN, Cornileus is responsible for the learning, talent management and organizational development strategies for ESPN employees around the world. She also serves as an adviser to senior management at ESPN on all matters pertaining to her field.
Cornileus joins undergraduate commencement speaker Jon Meacham for the end-of-semester festivities. Meacham is a biographer and journalist who won a Pulitzer Prize in 2009 for his book, "American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House." Meacham is also the author of two No. 1 New York Times best-sellers, "Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power" and "Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush."
The fall undergraduate Commencement address at the University of Georgia on Friday, Dec. 16, in Stegeman Coliseum. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the graduate ceremony to follow at 2:30 p.m.
