Several faculty members and graduate students in the College of Education were recently recognized for making a significant and positive impact on their students' career development.

As part of the UGA Career Center's Career Outcomes Survey, students and recent alumni were asked to identify UGA faculty and staff who have made a significant, positive impact on their career decision-making process.

Among those honored across College of Education departments were:

  • Laura Bierema
  • Rob Branch
  • John Mativo
  • William Wraga
  • Liz Phillips
  • Jennifer Graff
  • Sara Kajder
  • Mary Guay
  • Peter Smagorinsky
  • Amy Heath
  • Helene Halstead
  • Rhia Moreno-Kilpatrick
  • Meghan Barnes
  • Lou Tolosa-Casadont

"It is with great pleasure that we take this opportunity to acknowledge the impact faculty and staff members have on the career development of UGA students," said Scott Williams, executive director of the Career Center. "[I thank them] for their continued dedication to the future careers of our UGA graduates."

The Career Center serves as a key source of career information for students at UGA and provides insight into the employment status of graduates. Data from their survey are published in the UGA Fact Book and reported to various organizations that rank colleges, such as U.S. News and World Report.
