A kinesiology researcher has been named a Fellow by the Sport and Recreation Law Association (SRLA).

Thomas A. Baker III, an associate professor of sport management, will be recognized as an SRLA Research Fellow during the Sport and Recreation Law Association's annual conference in March in Las Vegas.

This designation recognizes scholars' achievement in legal aspects of sport and recreation-related scholarship. This honor also notes and encourages high standards of research and other scholarship within the organization.

With expertise in sport law, brand management, advertising regulations and intellectual property, Baker's research focuses on legal issues concerning brand equity and image rights.

In 2013, SRLA awarded Baker the Young Professional Award for excellence in research, teaching and service devoted to sport and recreation law. This year at the conference, Baker's former doctoral student, Natasha Brison, will be presented with the same award.
