Daniel Schoon is graduating with a dual degree in mathematics and mathematics education. This summer, he will stay on campus to work with UGA Student Affairs to run the UGA Dawg Camp, the premiere transition program for incoming first-year students. He will be back on campus in the fall to finish the final coursework for his mathematics degree and aim to study abroad before entering the workforce in the summer of 2018.

"I'll definitely miss all the friends I've made here and getting to see them on campus every day," he says. "It will be so strange not to see all the people I love and cherish all the time as I transition away from my life here in Athens. I'm glad I'll still be here for one summer and fall, though!"

His advice to current mathematics education students? Enjoy your time before it's gone.

"College is a fun and awesome time, so enjoy it while it lasts," he says. "Be adventurous and try new things! Do things that will help you grow as a person and meet and talk to people different from you. You'll never know what you'll learn!"
