While in the Army and stationed in Afghanistan, Jvonte Ross helped his roommate and others train to get better scores on their physical fitness tests. This interest in fitness eventually brought him back to the University of Georgia, where he's now intending to major in exercise and sport science.

The transition to college life after years in the military was difficult, but he's learning the new schedule. "I'm used to doing stuff nonstop and now I have a two- to three-hour block between classes. I feel like I need to be doing something," he said.
