Sport management student combines passions for sport, analytics
As a freshman, Ben Starks attended the MIT Sloan Sport Analytics Conference. This trip allowed him to meet and build relationships with titans of the sport industry. It was also where Starks connected with UGA Athletic director Greg McGarity and offer a brief presentation for how the athletic department could better use business analytics.
This encounter is just one of the many fortuitoud events that have taken place while Starks has been at UGA. He is majoring in management information systems and working toward his M.S. in Business Analytics, with a minor in sport management.
