Kudos: DeBray to speak at national symposium
Educational policy faculty member Elizabeth DeBray will be among the featured speakers at a national symposium next month marking the 65th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education.
The event, hosted by the Center for Education and Civil Rights and the Africana research Center at Penn State, will bring scholars and practitioners together on May 10 to commemorate and discuss this landmark decision. The event's keynote speaker is New York Times writer and MacArthur Genius Grant recipient Nikole Hannah-Jones.
DeBray and other speakers will touch on topics such as Brown's promise of racial integration in the context of threats that exist today to civil rights in education. DeBray is a professor in the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy.
More event details are available on the Center for Education and Civil Rights' website.
