The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce recently recognized the University of Georgia's Gwinnett Campus, and the College of Education programs housed there, with a 2019 IMPACT Award.

The campus offers graduate, professional and continuing education programs, along with training programs for local businesses, governments and industries in the metro Atlanta. The College of Education offers several graduate-level programs on the Gwinnett Campus, including a Ph.D. in counseling and student personnel services and master's, specialist and doctoral degrees in educational administration and policy, learning, leadership and organization development and professional school counseling.

The College is one of six at the University of Georgia to offer degree programs at the Gwinnett Campus, but offers more than all other colleges combined.

In recognizing the campus with the award, the committee noted how the graduate programs meet the community's needs, enrolling more than 500 working adults in graduate professional programs each year. Last year alone, about 9,000 residents came to the campus for professional development, certifications and educational events.

The IMPACT Regional Business Awards recognize leading organizations in top industries that are driving economic development and job creation, while also enhancing the area's quality of life. Awards are given in nine categories, including education, hospitality, healthcare, nonprofit and service industry.
