Meet a #MFECOEgreatgrad: Ashley Kehoe

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders, Ashley Kehoe plans to pursue a career in speech pathology. In the fall, she will attend Vanderbilt University and begin working on her master’s degree in the same subject area. Her passion for speech pathology and working with children began when someone from her family introduced her to the field.

One of Kehoe’s most memorable experiences at UGA is serving as a Mary Frances Early College of Education ambassador.

“I was so fortunate to be a College ambassador, and Callie Cole is such an amazing asset to that program because she really opens up the College of Education and exposes you to all the resources that are available,” Kehoe said. “Serving as an ambassador introduces you to so many people, and it makes being a part of the College of Education so much more meaningful.”

Some people can feel lost in a big school like the University of Georgia, said Kehoe. Her advice for younger students is to prepare for the new environment and to find where they belong, whether that’s in a student organization or just being a part of their program’s cohort.

“Find a specific place where you want to get involved and where it’s meaningful for you,” Kehoe said. “Because it will just add so much to your experience and make such a difference when you look back on your time at UGA.”
