Professor receives 2021 William E. Dugger Exemplary Collaboration Award

Roger B. Hill, a professor in the College's department of career and information studies and head of the department of Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Education, received the 2021 William E. Dugger Exemplary Collaboration Award for his work with the Council on Technology and Engineering Teacher Education's (CTETE) Twenty-First Century Leadership Academy. Hill received the award at the 2021 International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) virtual annual conference on Saturday, March 27.

This award was established to acknowledge Dugger's life's work and collaborative efforts to advance the mission of technological literacy for all. Each year, the award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to technology and engineering education through collaboration.

"For over three decades, Dr. Dugger was a leader in our field, instrumental in developing the standards for technological and engineering literacy and a strong proponent for the Twenty-First Century Leadership Academy," Hill said. "It is a distinct honor to be recognized with an award bearing his name."

Hill co-developed the Twenty-First Century Leadership Academy, a career leadership and professional development initiative, to enhance opportunities for junior faculty in ITEEA. For the past 15 years, the program has provided an opportunity for rising technology educators across the world to grow as professional leaders, develop community and have experiences related to the promotion of technology and engineering education and technological literacy in schools.

CTETE, an affiliate of ITEEA, is the international professional organization that focuses on the needs of technology and engineering teacher education.

Previously, Hill received the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association's 2019 Special Recognition Award and the Council on Technology and Engineering Teacher Education's 2013 International Travel Award.
