Katie Koo, assistant professor in the Mary Frances Early College of Education’s Department of Counseling and Human Development Services, was recently selected for the inaugural cohort of the Korean American Educational Research Association (KAERA) Early Scholar Program.

The two-year program will provide mentorship and resources to early-career Korean American scholars in education research through leadership-building activities, scholarly outreach programs, professional development, and peer networking.

“I am excited to be selected as an awardee and I look forward to providing and receiving diverse scholarly support on my research agenda on underrepresented college students’ mental health and well-being and international students’ experiences in the U.S. higher education through this award,” Koo said.
