Dyslexia Learning Lab Teaching
Dyslexia Endorsement and Certificate Program
Launched in 2016, UGA’s Dyslexia Endorsement and Certificate Program is open to all undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree-seeking students, such as current teachers and clinicians, reading specialists, speech-language pathologists, and family members of individuals with dyslexia.
As the only university program in Georgia accredited by the International Dyslexia Association , UGA’s five-course program is recognized for its rigorous, evidence-based preparation of literacy professionals.
Grounded in the International Dyslexia Association’s Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading , the program prepares graduates to provide comprehensive literacy assessment, instruction, and intervention that support learners across the continuum of reading development.

Additional Instruction
In addition to the Endorsement and Certificate courses, faculty provide dyslexia-related instruction to students across the Mary Frances College of Education and outside of the College.
Dyslexia Learning Lab faculty member Kelly Williams teaches a First-Year Odyssey course on dyslexia that engages students across disciplines, fostering greater awareness and understanding of dyslexia among students from a variety of academic majors.
Kristin Sayeski teaches EDUC 2140: Foundations of Reading , a University System of Georgia (USG) required course for all educator preparation and elementary education programs.
