CABER School Services
Our Services
CABER provides school consultation, professional development, and alternative school placement services.
School Consultation
Schools looking for additional support for students engaging in challenging behavior can request a consultation. During the consultation, CABER’s board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) and registered behavior technicians (RBTs) work with educators to determine the cause of a student’s challenging behavior, develop an intervention, and implement it in the classroom.
Professional Development
CABER’s team of BCBAs and RBTs work with schools and districts to create professional development tailored to their educators’ needs. Schools can expect our team, led by instructors with degrees in special education and who are board certified behavior analysts, to train educators in how to implement principles of applied behavior analysis within their classrooms.
Alternative School Placement
If the individualized education plan (IEP) team determines that the public school setting is not the appropriate placement for a student or an effective behavioral assessment cannot be completed in the school, they may opt for CABER’s Alternative School placement. This program supports school-aged students who engage in challenging behavior that cannot be managed at the school level. The goal of the program is to:
Determine why the student engages in challenging behavior
Implement an intervention to teach an alternative behavior and decrease engagement in challenging behavior
Train the student’s educators and families
Work to get the student back to their school
