Experience UGA is a partnership between the University of Georgia Office of Service-Learning, the Office of School Engagement in the College of Education, and the Clarke County School District, which aims to bring every Clarke County student (P-12) to UGAʼs campus every year.
Through a variety of field trips, students in the Clarke County School District participate in hands-on, curricular-based learning activities. Increased exposure to college life through Experience UGA fosters interest in the pursuit of higher education among Clarke County students - an interest they might otherwise never realize.
With support from the Office of School Engagement, the Department of Educational Theory and Practice sponsors the Experience UGA kindergarten field trip. Kindergarten students take a walking tour of campus led by early childhood education majors and discuss shapes they see in buildings and surroundings. Children then draw pictures of what they saw on their tour and read books together with UGA students.
