Courses

Unleashing Your Creative Brain

Cover of Anna Abraham’s book The Creative Brain: Myths and Truths with a Medusa Head in a circular ‘frame’ Dr. Anna Abraham uses her 2024 book, The Creative Brain: Myths and Truths, to show teachers how to create classroom experiences that cultivate creative mindsets in their students by examining the core truths of the creative brain at work and how we can apply what we know about the creative brain to nurture creativity in a school setting.

Creativity‑Based Lesson Planning

In this PD workshop, we will train teachers how to design and implement elements of a creativity-based curriculum by analyzing how certain activities encourage student creativity, as well as identify practices to evaluate student performance and the effectiveness of activity design, such as rubric construction and reflection activities.

Using the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) in the Classroom

Line drawing of Dr. E. Paul Torrance with the words “Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking” While the TTCT is most well-known for its use as an assessment tool for gifted identification, the components can easily be applied in the classroom. In this workshop, you will learn what the different components measure and how to apply the specific elements to designing classroom activities and assignments.

Nurturing Creativity in Educational Contexts: Applying the 5‑Ps Approach

This interactive workshop will help teachers create classrooms that promote creative mindsets in all students. In adopting the 5-Ps approach, teachers will learn to consider multiple perspectives in combination at the level of the person, process, product, place, and physiology in order to understand how creativity works and how to apply this knowledge to spark the creative impulse in their students.
