Each year, the College of Education receives funding from the federal government for the professional development of teachers in language arts, mathematics, reading, science and/or social studies at UGA and other institutions of higher education across Georgia.

Grants also address how teachers use technology, alternative assessment strategies, or innovative teaching strategies, all with the goal to strengthen and deepen content knowledge in academic subjects and look at how deepened knowledge impacts teaching practices and student learning.
