The Chip Clendon Memorial Scholarship

The endowment that supports the Chip Clendon Memorial Scholarship was started by Ruth L. Langevin in 2015 in memory of George William “Chip” Clendon.

Eligibility

The intent of the Chip Clendon Memorial Scholarship is to provide scholarship support for students in the Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education. First preference shall be given to a junior or senior Special Education major with financial need, as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid at the University of Georgia. The recipient(s) will be selected by a committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Education. Applicants must have a current cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

How to Apply

This award is made during the Spring semester each year and may be applied to the student’s account for the Spring semester or for the immediately following summer or fall semester. Applicants should complete the application process by following the link below. Applicants will be asked to submit a 2-page personal statement addressing their qualifications for the award with respect to the specified eligibility criteria, and their future goals in Communication Sciences and Disorders, or in Special Education, unofficial transcripts highlighting GPA, evidence of current enrollment at a specific program at UGA, evidence of financial need, and current resume by November 1st or the first business day thereafter.
