Fund Purpose
This fund provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students who show evidence of professional and service commitment.About the Donor
This fund was established in 1971 in memory of Stella Delavan “Del” Jones, a 1964 graduate of the University of Georgia’s College of Education. While at UGA, Del studied elementary education and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, earning the sorority’s highest scholastic honor twice.
After UGA, Del continued her education at the University of Florida, earning a master’s degree in social science. She went on to serve as a social worker in Florida and California and generously gave her time as a volunteer with the Fred Finch Children’s Home and other charitable organizations. Her commitment to serving children and supporting others reflected her caring spirit and dedication to making a difference.
Following Del’s passing, her family established this scholarship through the College of Education to honor her memory and continue her legacy of service.
