Fund Purpose

This fund was established by bequest of George R. Gilmer. The will reads in part: “to form a perpetual fund for educating teachers of reading, writing, and arithmetic, or to otherwise increase the qualifications of schoolmasters of Georgia for properly instructing the children of the state.”
