Jim Mann Scholarship in Elementary Education

James T. Mann established the Jim Mann Family Scholarship in 2004 to award deserving students who are majoring in elementary education in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice. The average annual scholarship amount awarded is $600.

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate students in their junior or senior year, scheduled to student teach in either the Fall or Spring of the upcoming academic year
  • Majoring in elementary education
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or better
  • Demonstrated academic achievement, conceived broadly

How to Apply

  • Completed application form, including signature and recommendations
  • Personal statement (300-500 words about yourself, your academic/professional achievements, reasons for applying, and career plans)
  • Resume/curriculum vitae
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty or instructor(s)

Applicants will be notified of committee decisions via email by June. Awarded scholarship funds are distributed to student accounts at the beginning of Fall semester.
