  • How to apply: Community applicants (under 18 years old) can request an application during the fall semester by emailing SHCLINIC@uga.edu . The committee will meet in October to distribute funds.

Fund Purpose

The purpose of this fund is to support the work of the clinic; particularly as it relates to pediatric hearing disorders/impairment. This support includes, but is not be limited to, the costs of hearing assessments and aural rehabilitation for children who come to the clinic for those services and the evaluation and fitting of hearing aids and/or assistive listening devices.

About the Donor

Katie Elizabeth Turner was born on May 29, 1976 in El Paso, Texas. She attended the University of Georgia from September 1996 to April 2000, when she passed away from cancer before completing her degree in audiology through the College of Education. In honor of Katie’s life and legacy, her parents, family, and friends established this fund to carry forward the teaching, research, and service work she was so passionate about and had planned to pursue.
