Fund Purpose
The purpose of the Fund is to provide a scholarship which will be given annually to either an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a degree program in the Department of Elementary Education. If a shared program exists with the Department of Child and Family Development, those students will be eligible.About the Donor
Janie Osborn established the D. Keith Osborn Scholarship in 1998 in memory of Dr. Keith Osborn and his dedication to educating young children.
A pioneer in early childhood education, D. Keith Osborn was a senior professor of education and child development for 26 years at The University of Georgia. He received the University’s highest teaching honor in 1987, the Josiah Meigs Award. Outside the University, Dr. Osborn made an impact in early childhood education on a national level, serving on the President’s Council on Television and as a special consultant to the U.S. Commissioner of Education.
